New World Depression, scheduled for release in June, features the staggering single, “Us vs. Them,” their second single to enter the Hip-Hop/R&B chart. The song also peaked at number 5 on Billboard’s Bubbling Under Hot 100, their highest ever on the chart.
With a minor glimpse into their new studio effort, the New World Depression is anticipated to be the biggest drop in the underground rap scene. Emerging from New Orleans in 2104, the Suicideboys are an enigma of the hip-hop underground scene. Scrim and Ruby Da Cherry self-produced their music and uploaded them on SoundCloud. Soon enough, the duo gained a massive following online. With dark themes, abrasive beats, and a “screaming” style of rap, the Suicideboys became one of the pioneers of a hip-hop subgenre that has been blowing up online. But thanks to their brilliant and addictive hits, the duo became too loud just to be kept in the underground circuit. Their studio effort, all self-released through their label G*59 Records, entered Billboard 200’s Top 10 upon their release. Meanwhile, their 2021 effort, Long Term Effects of Suffering, and 2022’s Sing Me A Lullaby, My Sweet Temptation, sold over half a million copies each, earning gold status in the U.S.
