Grammy winning singer-songwriter and actor Rick Springfield was the frontrunner of 80s pop rock. The performer busted out the phenomenal hit, “Jessie’s Girl,” which went straight to number 1 in 1981. The single, which won the Grammy for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance was spawned from Springfield’s fifth album Working Class Dog. Since achieving groundbreaking success, Springfield has released over 20 albums and sold over 25 million copies worldwide.
In 1984, John Waite released the hit single, “Missing You,” a brilliant title that went to number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Mainstream Rock chart. Waite continued to drop several more incredible hits throughought his career, the most notable ones being “These Times Are Hard for Lovers,” “Every Step of the Way,” a re-release of “Change,” and many more.
