True Colors Shining Through

Don't be afraid to show your true colors as Cyndi Lauper splashes the stage with all-out girl fun for one last time. Before the tune of "So don't be afraid to let them show you..." gets your crying a river, the singer assures everyone that this isn't a retirement - she's simply heading out to celebrate her last full-on arena tour while she's "strong now." Aged 71, the legendary singer has made great impact in the industry, with her music striking the hearts of new generations today. Sharing how she doesn't know what she'll be like in four years, now's the perfect time to kick off a massive farewell trek.

Embarking on the "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour", she just wants to "celebrate with people, and make it fun," as she shared details of the trek on Jimmy Kimmel Live. It might be goodbye, but Lauper still offers a glimmer of hope, sharing that she's open to take occasional hometown performances after the farewell tour. Performing around the globe for one last time, it's gonna be a huge celebration of her hits and classic favorites through the decades.

Kicking off the tour last year with a couple of additional shows through 2025, Lauper shared her excitement with Rolling Stone. "Oh gosh, it’s a bucket list. I haven’t done an arena tour since ‘86. I’m excited because I get to have all these fantastic young women on tour with me."

Recognized as a living legend for her timeless hits that spoke to generations of listeners, Cyndi Lauper was nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year. By April, we'll find out whether she'll be inducted. As her true colors keep shining through, the singer's legacy will be treasured for years to come.

Time After Time...

Cyndi Lauper was born in New York, and grew up in the Ozone Park neighborhood in Queens. Known for her flashy hair colors, eccentric clothing, and unique looks, she was actually bullied back then. Running away from home and deciding to study art, the singer navigated life on her own.

From cover bands to being told that she could never sing again (some damaged vocal chords), miracles happened and she regained her voice. Going through a band that went bankrupt down to her solo debut, time after time, Cyndi Lauper grew stronger and determined to make it big in music. Her solo debut album "She's So Unusual" came out and peaked at #4 in the US, and sold millions of copies around the world.

The debut LP was the first female debut album to chart four top-five hits on the Billboard Hot 100 - "Girls Just Want to Have Fun", "Time After Time", "She Bop", and "All Through the Night". Rolling Stone ranked the record on their 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list, and "Time After Time" was included on VH1's list of the "100 Best Songs of the Past 25 Years". The publication also ranked her #58 on the 100 Greatest Women of Rock & Roll list.

A heart of rainbow colors, she's also a known activist - standing up for LGBTQ+ and female rights. She has always used her platform to voice out her advocacies. Many have been lifted up by her stance for women, people with HIV/AIDS, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. The Girls Just Want To Have Fundamental Rights Fund continues to champion female empowerment and inclusivity.

Though she's bidding farewell, her legacy will continue to live on. All she wants is for girls to 'just wanna have fun! Join the celebration by booking those tickets now!
