Evan Westfall and Taylor Meier founded the band after meeting and becoming friends while attending Ohio University. The two musicians brought in Matt Vinson and Joseph Kavalec to complete the line up. In 2016, the band released their self-titled debut album, followed by Boys in 2018. The band finally found their breakthrough in 2019, when their third album By and By topped the Billboard’s Heatseekers chart. The album spawned the number 1 AAA single, “Peach Fuzz” and the title track, which also charted in the same countdown. In 2022, the band spawned their second number 1 charting single, “Believe,” from their latest album Lavender Days. Spin Magazine has hailed Caamp as the “Midwest’s Latest Folk-Rock Sensation” while NPR has included Lavender Days in their “The Best Roots Music of 2022” list.
